low-key Monet š¼ + apologies
ALSO: #PLAYxAK subscribers now have 10 videos (!!!) #blessed indeed
Welcome toĀ a (tough) love note,Ā a weekly rundown by Amanda Katz (me) to help you move, feel, grow & rewire your mind for a stronger you. Okay youāll also laugh. Basically, I like to make people believe in themselves. If you like this newsletter, share it with a friend...specifically one you like. While youāre at it, tag or DM meĀ @amanda_katzzĀ on the āgram and tell me what you loved reading this week!
How was your week? I have no recollection of mine. If I were to close my eyes, Iād see a low-key Monet painting (see below for reference). I open my google cal and *see* activities, personal training sessions, classes and webinars, bright in colorā¦but truly a blur. I suppose most weeks are like this nowadays.
Weird I donāt hate it? Perhaps.
Okay with it? No other choice.
So, letās do this.

making sense with senses
šread:Ā in April, I read renowned psychologist Dr. Harriet Lernerās Why Wonāt You Apologize? Healing Big Betrayals and Everyday Hurts which focuses on the power of apologies. The ones that resonate most and the ones that include *BUT* or *IF.* TL;DR: REQUIRED READING IF YOU INTERACT WITH HUMANS.
Also, tired of being on your phone so much? Read this Vice piece.
š¤listen:Ā Trained by Nike (subscribe to this one) The Key to Letting Nothing Stop You featuring NY Giants Saquon Barkley. It was released last year but is the perfect listen to remind you how strong you areā¦in the head any damn time.
š¼play: my teenage years are well-summarized in the Honestly Radio playlist by Spotify.
šŗwatch:Ā Outcry on Showtime. CW: a documentary series on a high school football leading guy accused of sexual assault and other gross acts. Admittedly, Nick got me on this one because one of my favorite pastimes is pretending I know how cases are going to play out before knowing all the facts as well as protecting the innocent and putting the bad guys away. That sorta thing.

a (tough) love note, coach
anxiety. so much of it is nameless, so much of it is baseless. and yet, it exists within us. it can dictate our days. in conversations with family and friends and colleagues. it can determine if we want to sleep or eat or reach out or stay silent. where does it come from? some of it is learned from others. and other times, weāve invented it in our own beautiful, creative minds.
i definitely donāt have the āhow-to-avoid-feeling-anxiousā guidebook (if you do, kindly send it to me priority mail) but i have witnessed my own bravery at work when i confront it. it requires me to pick apart the source of my fears and ultimately, come to a resolution.
9/10? the answer is to simply be more gentle with myself and focus my attention on others who need me at my best (orā¦better) self.
give it a go?
here for you.
