i interacted with a lot of humans this week. when youâre an introverted empath (or is it an empathetic introvert #META), you not only get easily overwhelmed by energy exchange but also require constant check-ins with yourself. this sounds sorta like talking to yourself (and in my case, out loud) which goes like: HEY YOU, TAKE A BREATH AND PUT YOUR PHONE ON *DO NOT DISTURB* AND TAKE OFF YOUR APPLE WATCH TOO AND LIE DOWN AND ONLY GET UP WHEN YOU WANT.
all this to say, i love my people but in order to always love my people, i spend a ton of time loving me too.

accepting substitutes. why do we do it? weâve convinced ourselves *something* is better than *nothing.* we settle in our relationships. we accept lower salaries. hell, we out here swapping out bread for bell peppers (no shade, #justsayin). and no, not everything we want is given to us or perhaps, even attainable but are you clear with what you want? substitutes arenât satisfying but being honest about who you are and where you want to go is.
first, get really specific with yourself.
next, give yourself grace.
finally, give the universe time.
patience. itâs coming.
